| Bob Gallico |
Ask ten people what they remember about Radio Nova and at least five will say "Bob Gallico". Bob's deep American drawl, quick wit and friendly presence defined the Nova of 1982-83 and he remains the personality most synonymous with the station. An actor, radio performer and script writer from the 50's and 60's, Bob was selling double glazing when his demo tape landed on Chris Cary's desk - and the rest is history. Bobs on-air breakfast partnership with Declan Meehan is the stuff of Nova legend and his comic features became as well known as his news bulletins. Following radio stints on a number of Dublin pirates, Bob had a spell with Century and later with Country Mix 106.8. He now lives in semi-retirement in Salem, Massachusetts. He's also heard regularly onĀ www.radioirish.com. Bob's personal recollections of Nova are at: http://www.mediaireland.net/irishpirates/bob.htm
