Andy Archer
Andy Archer"Legendary" is a word used sparingly on this website but it's fitting for Andy Archer.

Andy is best known for his work on Radio Caroline, the infamous and celebrated offshore pirate station founded by Irishman Ronan O'Rahilly. It was on Caroline that Andy met Chris Cary.

Andy joined Nova in the Spring of 1982 and in a short space of time had, as programme controller, turned it into a professionally operating station with a structured schedule and a range of additional on-air features including memorable station initiatives like "Operation Novacare". Andy also appeared on-air for most of his tenure, occupying the key mid-morning slot.

Despite being with the station for little over a year, Andy's influence was critical to the surge in popularity of Nova across the halcyon, pre-"closedown" period of 1982-83.

Since Nova Andy has spent most of his working career with the BBC and can still be heard regularly on BBC Radio Norfolk.
